Maybe Breakfast Rolls

I found this in my files, but I hadn’t given it a title.  I think it is for spiral breakfast rolls

  • Combine
    • 1/2 C vegetable oil
    • 1/2 C sugar
    • 1 pint whole milk
  • Heat to near scalding – 190º
  • Add 4 C AP flour mixed with
  • 1 pkg (or 1 TBL active dry yeast)
    • Let rise 1 hour
  • Add 1/2 C flour mixed with
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • scant baking soda
  • scant salt
    • Roll flat
  • Combine
    • 4 TBL softened butter
    • 4 TBL sugar
    • 3 TBL CinnaSugar
  • Spread across the dough
  • Roll along the most narrow side creating a large log
  • Roll the log into plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1 hour
  • Slice into 3/4 inch medallions and place on parchment paper on a baking sheet, just barely touching
  • Allow to rise for 45-60 minutes
  • Bake at 375º for 15 minutes
  • Orange Buttercream Frosting for top:  Combine
    • Orange zest from one orange
    • 1 C powdered sugar
    • 1/2 tsp vanilla
    • 2 TBL softened butter
    • 1 drop orange food coloring
