Late Night Chocolate Fudge Brownie Mix

UNTESTED

Prepare Mix and put 1/2 C in 5-6 baggies

  • 1 1/2 C Bisquick
  • 1/4 C cocoa
  • 1 C granulated sugar
  • scant salt

When ready to make one

  • 1 pkg Late Night Brownie mix
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 2 TBL softened butter
  • 1 egg
  1. Stir still mixed well
  2. Pour into well greased (and floured) ramekin
  3. Bake 350º for 22-25 minutes
  4. Cool 30 minutes before eating
  5. Cool 1 hour before frosting (optional)

Make your Frosting

  • 1 TBL brown sugar
  • scant salt
  • 1 TBL softened butter
  • 1 oz chocolate
  • 1/2 vanilla
  • 1/2 C confectioner sugar
  1. Put brown sugar and salt into glass ramekin with 1 tsp water
  2. Microwave 30 seconds
  3. Stir and repeat until temperature is 236-238 – Temperature is critical
  4. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla
  5. Add 1 TBL butter and stir
  6. Mix about 30 seconds, then let cool to about 130º (10 minutes)
  7. Add 1 oz bittersweet chocolate and 1/2 tsp vanilla and stir
  8. Add confectioner sugar
  9. Mix 3-4 minutes
  10. Cool to 80º (about 1/2 hour)
  11. NOTE:  At this point, you have fudge.  You can pour it into a mold and let it cool, but we are going to make fudge icing for our cake
  12. After it has cooled, mix for 60 seconds
  13. At this point, you should be able to spread it like frosting
  14. Refrigerate frosted cake for at least an hour (better two)
