{"id":810,"date":"2011-10-28T19:33:48","date_gmt":"2011-10-28T23:33:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.grandpacooks.com\/recipes\/?p=810"},"modified":"2020-04-03T08:20:55","modified_gmt":"2020-04-03T15:20:55","slug":"pot-pies-using-puff-pastry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.grandpacooks.com\/recipes\/pot-pies-using-puff-pastry\/","title":{"rendered":"Pot Pies &#8211; Using Puff Pastry"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.grandpacooks.com\/recipes\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/2016-04-06-14.05.16.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium aiif10545\" src=\"https:\/\/www.grandpacooks.com\/recipes\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/2016-04-06-14.05.16.jpg\" alt=\"2016-04-06 14.05.16\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\"><\/a>INGREDIENTS<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1\/2 C chopped onion<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 C chopped celery<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 C chopped carrot<\/li>\n<li>1 TBL canola oil<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 stick melted butter<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 C frozen tiny English peas<\/li>\n<li>1 TBL flour<\/li>\n<li>1 TBL corn starch or potato starch<\/li>\n<li>1 C chicken broth<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 C half &amp; half<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 tsp salt<\/li>\n<li>scant black pepper<\/li>\n<li>2 C diced cooked chicken<\/li>\n<li>1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed<\/li>\n<li>1 egg yolk<\/li>\n<li>1 TBL half &amp; half<\/li>\n<li>Optional: Parsnips or Potatoes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>STEP BY STEP<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li>Saute onion, celery and carrot in canola oil for 10 minutes<\/li>\n<li>Add melted butter<\/li>\n<li>Stir in peas, corn starch and flour, cook 1 minute, stirring constantly<\/li>\n<li>Gradually add broth and 1\/2 cup half &amp; half; whisk until lumps disappear<\/li>\n<li>Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened<\/li>\n<li>Stir in salt and pepper.
