{"id":803,"date":"2011-10-12T20:35:26","date_gmt":"2011-10-13T00:35:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.grandpacooks.com\/recipes\/?p=803"},"modified":"2019-04-14T13:56:44","modified_gmt":"2019-04-14T20:56:44","slug":"acorn-squash-convection-oven","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.grandpacooks.com\/recipes\/acorn-squash-convection-oven\/","title":{"rendered":"Acorn Squash &#8211; Convection Oven"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium aiif6731\" src=\"https:\/\/www.grandpacooks.com\/recipes\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/squash.png\" alt=\"squash\" width=\"222\" height=\"200\" \/>INGREDIENTS<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Acorn squash<\/li>\n<li>EVOO<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>STEP BY STEP<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Wash briefly under running water, then dry with a towel.<\/li>\n<li>Cut in half from stem to tip using a heavy knife.<\/li>\n<li>Spray both cut faces with PAM or brush with EVOO.<\/li>\n<li>Bake in Convection Oven or Toaster Oven face down for 25 minutes at 350 degrees.<br \/>\nIf you like your squash a little on the firmer side, make this only 20 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Remove half-baked squash, and spray or oil again.<\/li>\n<li>If you have it, EVOO or melted butter, this adds a great flavor<\/li>\n<li>Return face up to cook 20 more minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Meanwhile, cream together 1 TBL sugar into 4 TBL butter<\/li>\n<li>Remove and cover each with 1\/2 of the butter mixture<\/li>\n<li>Return to cook (cut side up) for five more minutes.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Note: A piece of crumpled aluminum foil makes a good base if your squash does not sit flat.<\/p>\n<h6 style=\"text-align: center;\">##################<\/h6>\n<p>Here is a recipe from Martha Stewart, where she cooks (and eats) the skin and all.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Halve the squash and remove the seeds &#8211; just as done above &#8211; but this is where the similarity ends&#8230;<\/li>\n<li>Cut the halves in half again and again, creating about 32 thin wedges<\/li>\n<li>Toss with EVOO, corriander, salt, cumin, cayenne and black pepper (to taste)<\/li>\n<li>Bake on greased baking sheet at 425\u00ba for 20 minutes<\/li>\n<li>Flip wedges to bake the other side<\/li>\n<li>Bake another 15 minutes<\/li>\n<li>Serve with the skin<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Hmmmmm&#8230;..\u00a0 I haven&#8217;t tried this yet, but Martha has not led me wrong before.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>INGREDIENTS Acorn squash EVOO STEP BY STEP Wash briefly under running water, then dry with a towel.
