{"id":7051,"date":"2015-12-29T10:34:32","date_gmt":"2015-12-29T17:34:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.grandpacooks.com\/recipes\/?p=7051"},"modified":"2019-05-17T13:32:43","modified_gmt":"2019-05-17T20:32:43","slug":"pizza-dough","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.grandpacooks.com\/recipes\/pizza-dough\/","title":{"rendered":"Basic Pizza Dough"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_12312\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-12312\" style=\"width: 221px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.grandpacooks.com\/recipes\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/pizza.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\" aiif12312\" src=\"https:\/\/www.grandpacooks.com\/recipes\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/pizza.jpg\" alt=\"PIzza Ball\" width=\"221\" height=\"166\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-12312\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Pizza Dough Ball<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>INGREDIENTS to make <\/strong>FOUR 6-8 inch pizzas.<br \/>\nSimply double ingredients to make more pizzas or larger pizzas.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 C warm water &#8211; about 105\u00ba \u00b1<\/li>\n<li>1-1\/2 tsp dry yeast<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp sugar<\/li>\n<li>3 C bread flour<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp sea salt<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 C olive oil<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.grandpacooks.com\/recipes\/meet-grandpa\/medal\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/medal.jpg\" width=\"100\" height=\"100\" align=\"right\" \/><\/a><strong>STEP BY STEP<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Mix water, yeast and sugar in a glass bowl<\/li>\n<li>Let feed 5 minutes<\/li>\n<li>Sift together flour and salt ( keep 1\/2 C flour aside )<\/li>\n<li>Combine flour with yeast and EVOO<\/li>\n<li>Put 1\/2 C flour on the counter<\/li>\n<li>Mix until a ball forms, then dump onto counter<\/li>\n<li>Add more flour if necessary<\/li>\n<li>Mix until flour is gone and dough ball is elastic<\/li>\n<li>Place in greased bowl and turn to cover ball<\/li>\n<li>Let rise on counter about 45 minutes<\/li>\n<li>Punch dough down to get rid of internal bubbles<\/li>\n<li>Turn out onto floured surface and cut into (approximately) 100 gm balls &#8211; baseball sized<\/li>\n<li>Let rise on counter for another hour<\/li>\n<li>Form into disks, leaving the border puffly<\/li>\n<li>Sprinkle baking sheet with cornmeal<\/li>\n<li>Put disk onto baking sheet<\/li>\n<li>Bake at 450 for 10-12 minutes<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Dough may be wrapped in plastic and kept in the refrigerator for up to two days.\u00a0 Let come up to room temperature and cover to let rise for at least 4 hours.<\/p>\n<p>Freeze for up to a month.\u00a0 Allow to thaw overnight in the refrigerator, then proceed as with the refrigerated balls.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>INGREDIENTS to make FOUR 6-8 inch pizzas.
