{"id":6253,"date":"2015-10-19T03:36:29","date_gmt":"2015-10-19T03:36:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.grandpacooks.com\/recipes\/?p=6253"},"modified":"2017-12-02T22:16:49","modified_gmt":"2017-12-03T05:16:49","slug":"pizza","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.grandpacooks.com\/recipes\/pizza\/","title":{"rendered":"Pizza for Parents and Kids"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This recipe will be featured in <em>Cooking for 1-1\/2<\/em> &#8211; Recipes for single parents<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\">4 CU Flour<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: small;\">4 tsp Yeast<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: small;\">4 tbl EVOO (Olive Oil)<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: small;\">4 tsp sugar<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: small;\">4 shakes of salt<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: small;\">Basil (dried good, fresh better)<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: small;\">1 CU (four 1\/4 cups) VERY warm water<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\">(AS) = Adult Step<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Put water into a glass bowl<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Add Sugar to water <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Add Yeast to water <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Stir four times briefly to dissolve<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Cover and let rest while you get the sauce ready (SEE RECIPE)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: small;\">After Sauce is ready, put liquid into Kitchen Aid*<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Add flour and continue mixing until thick like pudding<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Shake Salt and Olive Oil into the pudding<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Mince and add 12 leaves basil, or add 4 large pinches of dried basil<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: small;\">(AS) Continue to add flour until the dough ball is tacky (but not sticky) and a finger impression pressed into the dough mostly bounces back.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: small;\">(AS) Once dough is completed, remove, coat with oil, cover with large damp towel, and allow to rise in a warm place for 20 minutes.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: small;\">(AS) Clean up from previous step, and prepare your work area for the next step<br \/>\nRinse dishes, clean counter top, sprinkle with corn meal<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Get out four individual rising bowls and coat lightly with solid Crisco<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: small;\">(AS) In 20 minutes remove dough, cut into half, then half again, making four pieces.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Fold each dough ball three or four times, and recreate a ball.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Cover with a few drops of oil, and let rise in small rising bowls for 20 minutes<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: small;\">In 20 minutes halve each dough ball for small pizzas, or use &#8220;as is&#8221; for a larger pizza.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Spread corn meal lightly on the kitchen counter<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Flatten balls with your hands, turning\/slipping frequently<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: small;\">(OPT) Keep flattening and if you want a thin crust pizza, \u201cdock\u201d sheet with a fork<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: small;\">(Cut in circle) Put on metal personal pizza pans<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Cover with sauce<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Cover with desired toppings<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Cover lightly with cheese<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Set oven to 400 degrees<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: small;\">As each pizza is finished put pan over very low flame for four minutes<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: small;\">SET TIMER for stove top process so it doesn&#8217;t burn<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Put into oven after four minutes on the stovetop.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Cook for ten minutes in oven (SET TIMER) at 400 degrees<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Let cool 5 minutes before removing and cutting &#8211; Serve hot<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: xx-small;\">* If you don&#8217;t have a Kitchen Aid, do this by hand.
