{"id":4734,"date":"2014-10-06T17:33:28","date_gmt":"2014-10-06T17:33:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.grandpacooks.com\/recipes\/hot-wing-sauce\/"},"modified":"2020-08-11T21:39:12","modified_gmt":"2020-08-12T04:39:12","slug":"hot-wing-sauce","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.grandpacooks.com\/recipes\/hot-wing-sauce\/","title":{"rendered":"Hot Wing Sauce"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hot Wing Sauce<\/p>\n<p>I am a huge fan of Frank&#8217;s red hot cayenne pepper sauce, here is a hot wing sauce substitute presented by Chef Lee Hillson of The Phoenician Resort and Spa here in Phoenix.<\/p>\n<p>Toss raw chicken wings in a bag with cumin, coriander, garlic powder, salt, pepper,<br \/>\nSear wings in a large skillet with EVOO<br \/>\nSet aside into large metal mixing bowl when seared<br \/>\nMelt one entire stick of butter<br \/>\nAdd to butter<br \/>\n. 1\/4 C orange juice<br \/>\n. Juice and zest from one lime<br \/>\n. 2 TBL honey<br \/>\n. 1\/4 C Sriracha hot sauce<br \/>\nBring to a boil, then reduce to simmer<br \/>\n. Add 1 TBL corn starch or Arrowroot slurry<\/p>\n<p>Pour some sauce over wings then toss to coat<br \/>\nBake at 400\u00b0 for 25 minutes<br \/>\nRemove wings then toss again to coat<br \/>\nSprinkle with parsley or cilantro<\/p>\n<p>IMPORTANT NOTE: Use a second clean metal pan for tossing after they are cooked to avoid cross-contamination from any juice that leaked out of the uncooked, lightly seared chicken.<\/p>\n<p>Dipping sauce is yogurt with lime and honey<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hot Wing Sauce I am a huge fan of Frank&#8217;s red hot cayenne pepper sauce, here is a hot wing sauce substitute presented by Chef Lee Hillson of The Phoenician Resort and Spa here in Phoenix.
