{"id":4458,"date":"2014-05-19T22:29:57","date_gmt":"2014-05-19T22:29:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.grandpacooks.com\/recipes\/grandmas-beans\/"},"modified":"2017-12-23T17:35:58","modified_gmt":"2017-12-24T00:35:58","slug":"grandmas-beans","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.grandpacooks.com\/recipes\/grandmas-beans\/","title":{"rendered":"Grandma&#8217;s Beans"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Grandma&#8217;s Beans<\/p>\n<p>1 C dry beans<br \/>\nWash in cold water<br \/>\nStrain and remove any rocks, etc<br \/>\nAdd to 1.5 C warm water and 1 can stock in soup pan<br \/>\nCover and bring to a boil (or about 200\u00b0)<br \/>\nStart timing, and cook 2 minutes<br \/>\nRemove from heat and cover<br \/>\nLet set 60 minutes<br \/>\nAdd 1 tsp salt per 1 C beans<br \/>\nAdd med pieces celery, onion, carrot, garlic<br \/>\nAdd bay leaf, 1 slice raw bacon, ham (or other) bone<br \/>\nBring back to 200\u00b0 or gentle boil, then simmer 2 hours<br \/>\nStir very lightly and check water level every 30 minutes<br \/>\nTaste one bean.
