They&#8217;re nice, but not really necessary. You can make a decent omelet in a skillet just as easily. Here&#8217;s how&#8230;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>INGREDIENTS<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1-2 eggs for each person<\/li>\n<li>Cheddar cheese (grated)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>OPTIONAL FILLINGS<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>black olives<\/li>\n<li>green onions<\/li>\n<li>mushrooms<\/li>\n<li>salsa<\/li>\n<li>&#8230; etc<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>STEP BY STEP<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Preheat flat surface to medium-low heat (ideally 300-350\u00ba if you have an infrared thermometer or electric skillet)<\/li>\n<li>Pour on about 1 tsp olive oil<\/li>\n<li>Beat the egg well and pour onto skillet<\/li>\n<li>Tip skillet so that egg flows over a wide area BEFORE it hardens<\/li>\n<li>Allow to cook so that egg is soft, but no longer runny<\/li>\n<li>Flip omelet<\/li>\n<li>Put grated cheese on 1\/2 of the surface<\/li>\n<li>Put fillings also on 1\/2 of surface<\/li>\n<li>Use your spatula to flip bare side over onto the fillings<\/li>\n<li>Slide onto a plate<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A FEW STARTING COMMENTS An omelet is a good first meal for budding chefs.\u00a0 This is nearly foolproof, healthy and versatile.
