{"id":3250,"date":"2013-05-31T03:47:06","date_gmt":"2013-05-31T03:47:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.grandpacooks.com\/recipes\/?p=3250"},"modified":"2017-12-02T22:45:30","modified_gmt":"2017-12-03T05:45:30","slug":"bbq-beef-sandwich","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.grandpacooks.com\/recipes\/bbq-beef-sandwich\/","title":{"rendered":"BBQ Beef Sandwich"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>1 1\/2 CU beef broth<br \/>\n1\/2 CU low sodium soy<br \/>\n1\/2 CU water<br \/>\n1\/4 CU rice vinegar<br \/>\n2 TBL brown sugar<br \/>\n2 TBL molasses<br \/>\n2 tsp Five-Spice Powder (see Recipe)<br \/>\n1 tsp crushed red pepper<br \/>\n1\/2 tsp black pepper<br \/>\n1 CU onion (chopped finely)<br \/>\n2 LB flank steak (trimmed)<br \/>\n1 TBL hoisin sauce<br \/>\n1\/4 CU cilantro<br \/>\n1 TBL sesame oil<br \/>\n8 hoagie rolls<\/p>\n<p>Instructions<br \/>\n1. Saute onions in sesame oil<br \/>\n2. Add all other ingredients except hoisin, cilantro, meat and buns<br \/>\n3. Bring mixture to a boil<br \/>\n4. Add meat and simmer approx 2 hours (or until tender)<br \/>\n5. Remove from heat, remove meat, and let cool 10 minutes<br \/>\n6. Shred beef with a fork, then return to pan<br \/>\n7. Add hoisin sauce<br \/>\n8. Simmer (without a lid) until most of the liquid evaporates, stirring occasionally<br \/>\n9. Remove from heat and let stand 5 minutes<br \/>\n10. Stir in cilantro and serve<\/p>\n<p>Top with sliced cheese<br \/>\nEasy BBQ beef &#8211; Buy the same amount of beef already cooked and thinly<br \/>\nsliced from the deli section.
