{"id":2734,"date":"2013-05-26T02:57:27","date_gmt":"2013-05-26T02:57:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.grandpacooks.com\/recipes\/?p=2734"},"modified":"2013-05-26T02:57:27","modified_gmt":"2013-05-26T02:57:27","slug":"easy-red-beans-and-rice","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.grandpacooks.com\/recipes\/easy-red-beans-and-rice\/","title":{"rendered":"Easy Red Beans and Rice"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ingredients<br \/>\n1 pound smoked sausage, thinly sliced<br \/>\n1 medium onion, chopped<br \/>\n1 medium-size green bell pepper, chopped<br \/>\n1 garlic clove, minced<br \/>\n1 tablespoon vegetable oil<br \/>\n3 (15-ounce) cans red beans, rinsed and drained<br \/>\n1 (16-ounce) can tomato paste<br \/>\n1 (14 1\/2-ounce) can stewed tomatoes, undrained and chopped<br \/>\n1 1\/2 cups water<br \/>\n1\/4 teaspoon dried oregano<br \/>\n1\/4 teaspoon dried thyme<br \/>\n1\/4 teaspoon hot sauce<br \/>\n1 bay leaf<br \/>\nHot cooked rice<\/p>\n<p>Instructions<br \/>\nSaut\u00e9 first 4 ingredients in hot oil in a Dutch oven over medium-high heat 8 minutes or until vegetables are tender. Add beans and next 7 ingredients.<\/p>\n<p>Bring to a boil; cover, reduce heat, and simmer 20 minutes. Discard bay leaf. Serve over rice. To reheat, microwave at MEDIUM (50% power) 3 to 5 minutes or until thoroughly heated.
