{"id":2675,"date":"2013-04-16T21:39:15","date_gmt":"2013-04-16T21:39:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.grandpacooks.com\/recipes\/?p=2675"},"modified":"2018-11-30T09:53:43","modified_gmt":"2018-11-30T16:53:43","slug":"dutch-baby","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.grandpacooks.com\/recipes\/dutch-baby\/","title":{"rendered":"Dutch Baby"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>INGREDIENTS<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1\/2 C\u00a0 plain flour<\/li>\n<li>2 eggs<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 CU (4 FL OZ) milk<\/li>\n<li>3 TBL butter (melted)<\/li>\n<li>2 TBL sugar<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 tsp vanilla<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 tsp lemon zest or juice<\/li>\n<li>scant nutmeg<\/li>\n<li>salt and pepper for taste<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>STEP BY STEP<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Cover the bottom of a cast iron skillet liberally with butter<\/li>\n<li>Place skillet in a COLD oven and turn heat to 425 degrees F or 220 C.<\/li>\n<li>Use a sieve to sift the flour and other dry ingredients into a bowl.<\/li>\n<li>Mix HALF the dry ingredients with all of the wet ingredients and mix well<\/li>\n<li>Add in the remaining dry ingredients and mix, but do not over-mix<\/li>\n<li>Wait until the oven comes up to heat. CAUTION: Oil will be very hot.<\/li>\n<li>Add the batter to the pan.
