{"id":23099,"date":"2023-09-17T16:09:16","date_gmt":"2023-09-17T23:09:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.grandpacooks.com\/recipes\/?p=23099"},"modified":"2023-09-17T16:29:32","modified_gmt":"2023-09-17T23:29:32","slug":"iona-bisquits","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.grandpacooks.com\/recipes\/iona-bisquits\/","title":{"rendered":"Community Biscuits"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>All kinds of different biscuits<\/p>\n<p><strong>Plain biscuits Chocolate Biscuits Lemon &amp; Poppy Seed Biccis<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>800 g margarine 800 g margarine 800 g margarine<\/li>\n<li>400 g caster sugar 400 g caster sugar 400 g caster sugar<\/li>\n<li>900 g plain flour 750 g plain flour 900 g plain flour<\/li>\n<li>300 g rice flour 150 g cocoa 300 g corn flour<\/li>\n<li>\u00bd tsp salt \u00bd tsp salt \u00bd tsp salt<\/li>\n<li>2 tsp baking powder 300 g corn flour 2 tsp baking powder<\/li>\n<li>2 tsp baking powder zest of 3 well washed lemons<\/li>\n<li>4 tbsp poppy seeds<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>1. Pre-heat oven to 180 C.<\/p>\n<p>2. Cream sugar and margarine together with the large Hobart mixer. Use balloon whisk, speed 3 for 5 minutes. (add the lemon zest if making the lemon and poppy seed biscuits) Turn off the mixer.<\/p>\n<p>3. Mix all the dry ingredients and add to the mixing bowl. Mix these in on speed 1 until just combined.<\/p>\n<p>4. Roll out in smaller batches on a floured surface and cut out square biscuits.<\/p>\n<p>Place on lightly oiled trays, there doesn\u2019t need to be much space between them.<\/p>\n<p>5. Bake at 180 C for 20 minutes, then shuffle trays around and bake for a further 12 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>6. Take out of oven and leave to cool.
