{"id":2285,"date":"2012-12-28T21:41:40","date_gmt":"2012-12-28T21:41:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.grandpacooks.com\/recipes\/?p=2285"},"modified":"2019-07-29T17:36:59","modified_gmt":"2019-07-30T00:36:59","slug":"cinnamon-spiral-breakfast-rolls","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.grandpacooks.com\/recipes\/cinnamon-spiral-breakfast-rolls\/","title":{"rendered":"Cinnamon Spiral Breakfast Rolls"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ingredients<br \/>\n1\/4 CU warm water (not hot 110-115\u00b0)<br \/>\n1 pkg active dry yeast<br \/>\n1 CU lukewarm milk<br \/>\n1 CU quick-cooking rolled oats<br \/>\n1+ TBL brown sugar (packed)<br \/>\n1+ TBL soft shortening<br \/>\n1 tsp salt (required)<br \/>\n1\/2 CU raisins or cranberries<br \/>\n2 CU sifted all purpose flour<\/p>\n<p>1 CU sifted whole wheat flour<br \/>\nOR<br \/>\n1\/2 CU sifted wheat flour AND 1\/4 CU mesquite meal<\/p>\n<p>Cinnamon<br \/>\nMore brown sugar<\/p>\n<p>Instructions<br \/>\n1. Dissolve yeast in warm water, in mixing bowl.<br \/>\n2. In second bowl, combine milk, rolled oats, brown sugar, shortening, salt, raisins, whole wheat flour, and whatever chaff remains from sifting process.<br \/>\n3. Mix with spoon until smooth.<br \/>\n4. Add white flour and combine quickly with spoon.<br \/>\n5. Prepare greased muffin pans or flour the top of a baking stone<br \/>\n6. Turn onto lightly floured board or counter top and knead until smooth and elastic, about 5 min.<br \/>\n7. Roll until flat, but still fairly thick. Reflouring board or counter as needed.<br \/>\n8. Smear with thin layer of butter<br \/>\n9. Combine 3 TBL sugar and 3 TBL cinnamon in small bowl<br \/>\n10. Sprinkle with cinnamon\/sugar mixture to taste<br \/>\n11. Cut into 1\/2 inch pieces and put into baking vessel<br \/>\n12. Let rise in warm place (85\u00b0) until double in bulk\u20261 to 2 hours.<br \/>\n13. Heat oven to 400\u00b0 (mod. Hot).<br \/>\n14. For mini muffins bake 12 minutes. For standard muffin size and unwarmed baking stone bake 15 minutes<br \/>\n15.
