{"id":22743,"date":"2023-04-27T16:50:47","date_gmt":"2023-04-27T23:50:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.grandpacooks.com\/recipes\/?p=22743"},"modified":"2023-04-27T16:53:10","modified_gmt":"2023-04-27T23:53:10","slug":"nashville-hot-chicken-sandwich","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.grandpacooks.com\/recipes\/nashville-hot-chicken-sandwich\/","title":{"rendered":"Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This is a nice sandwich if you are looking for a bit of heat and a crispy mouth feel.&nbsp; Here is my recipe, adapted from a recipe shown on YourLife A &#8211; Z.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Prepare wet marinade:&nbsp; 1\/2 C buttermilk, 1 egg yolk, 2 TBL Frank&#8217;s Red Hot Cayenne, 2 tsp <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grandpacooks.com\/recipes\/roberts-thunder-powder\/\">Grandpa&#8217;s Thunder Powder<\/a>.&nbsp; For less heat, use a bit of cumin and a bit of garlic powder.<\/li>\n<li>Pound 2 chicken thighs between two sheets of plastic, lightly sprayed with Pam.&nbsp; Make evenly flat, but not too thin.<\/li>\n<li>Put into plastic bag, and let rest in refrigerator overnight.<br \/>\n&nbsp;&#8211; &#8211; NEXT DAY<\/li>\n<li>Next day (for lunch or dinner) remove liquid from plastic bag, and put into a large bowl for later use.<\/li>\n<li>Pat dry&nbsp; (DON&#8217;T WIPE)&nbsp; and dredge in dry ingredients:\n<ul>\n<li>2 TBL brown sugar, 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp garlic powder, 1 TBL Thunder Powder,&nbsp; 1\/4 C AP flour, 1 tsp corn starch<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Set on wire rack and let rest an hour<br \/>\n&nbsp;&#8211; &#8211; AN HOUR LATER<\/li>\n<li>Dredge again in the dredge flour and place in hot oil &#8211; Canola or Peanut<\/li>\n<li>Fry about 10-12 minutes each piece at 320 &#8211; 330\u00ba<\/li>\n<li>Drain on a wire rack.<\/li>\n<li>Put thighs in an oven at 350\u00ba for about 30 minutes<\/li>\n<li>Serve on a brioche bun with desired sandwich toppings<\/li>\n<li>Suggested:&nbsp; Mayonnaise, dill pickles, lettuce<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.grandpacooks.com\/recipes\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/2016-02-05-11.11.05.png\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-8489\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright aiif8489\" src=\"https:\/\/www.grandpacooks.com\/recipes\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/2016-02-05-11.11.05.png\" alt=\"2016-02-05 11.11.05\" width=\"208\" height=\"157\"><\/a>Serve with Dill Pickles and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grandpacooks.com\/recipes\/parker-house-rolls-from-the-internet\/\">Parker House Rolls<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This is a nice sandwich if you are looking for a bit of heat and a crispy mouth feel.&nbsp; Here is my recipe, adapted from a recipe shown on YourLife A &#8211; Z.
