{"id":22477,"date":"2022-12-04T09:52:14","date_gmt":"2022-12-04T16:52:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.grandpacooks.com\/recipes\/?p=22477"},"modified":"2022-12-04T09:52:14","modified_gmt":"2022-12-04T16:52:14","slug":"pickled-pink-deviled-eggs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.grandpacooks.com\/recipes\/pickled-pink-deviled-eggs\/","title":{"rendered":"Pickled Pink Deviled Eggs"},"content":{"rendered":"<ol>\n<li>Boil six eggs &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grandpacooks.com\/recipes\/hard-boiled-eggs\/\">CLICK HERE FOR STEP BY STEP<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Peel them and refrigerate them.\n<ul>\n<li>This can be done a day or two ahead of time<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Create a beet pickling solution\n<ol>\n<li>Peel a medium sized beet and cut it into pieces\n<ul>\n<li>Use gloves to avoid finger stain<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Put beets into a boiling pan<\/li>\n<li>3\/4 C apple cider vinegar<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 C white balsamic vinegar OR flavored rice vinegar<\/li>\n<li>2 TBL brown sugar<\/li>\n<li>1 TBL peppercorns<\/li>\n<li>1 TBL salt<\/li>\n<li>2 bay leaves<\/li>\n<li>Top with 2-3 C water<\/li>\n<li>Bring to a simmer<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>Put eggs into a heat-safe container in a single layer<\/li>\n<li>Pour hot liquid over top of the eggs<\/li>\n<li>Put container in an ice bath to quickly reduce the temperature<\/li>\n<li>Put into refrigerator for 6-12 hours to color the eggs<\/li>\n<li>Remove and set on a paper towel &#8211; discard the liquid<\/li>\n<li>Halve the eggs, and place the yolks in a mixing bowl, and the halves on a serving tray<\/li>\n<li>Crush the yolks with a fork and add filling ingredients\n<ul>\n<li>1\/4 Mayonnaise (I prefer Miracle Whip)<\/li>\n<li>2 TBL Dijon mustard<\/li>\n<li>1 TBL Flavored Rice Vinegar<\/li>\n<li>Dash of Cayenne pepper sauce (or Tabasco)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Mix ingredients and put into a piping bag.&nbsp; I like to use a star tip<\/li>\n<li>Pipe into the egg receptacles<\/li>\n<li>Sprinkle with optional toppings\n<ul>\n<li>Micro greens<\/li>\n<li>Goat cheese<\/li>\n<li>Chives<\/li>\n<li>Thunder Powder<\/li>\n<li>Chopped black olives<\/li>\n<li>Bacon pieces<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Put a few toothpicks in to act as tent separators, and cover with plastic and refrigerate until ready to serve.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Boil six eggs &#8211; CLICK HERE FOR STEP BY STEP Peel them and refrigerate them.
