{"id":17979,"date":"2019-05-16T17:20:56","date_gmt":"2019-05-17T00:20:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.grandpacooks.com\/recipes\/?p=17979"},"modified":"2021-01-25T17:06:23","modified_gmt":"2021-01-26T00:06:23","slug":"sourdough-loaves","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.grandpacooks.com\/recipes\/sourdough-loaves\/","title":{"rendered":"Sourdough Braided Wheat Loaves"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Follow the instructions on reviving your starter.<\/p>\n<p>Here is a recipe for bread loaves:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Feed your starter overnight<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Take your LIVE starter and add 3\/4 C whole wheat flour and 1\/2 C white flour<\/li>\n<li>Mix with 1\/2 C water<\/li>\n<li>Knead and let rise 4-5 hours (better overnight)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Ready to make bread<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Sift 2 tsp salt with 3 C all white flour<\/li>\n<li>Mix in 1 1\/4 with the starter<\/li>\n<li>Add the flour mix to the starter mix<\/li>\n<li>Mix by hand and proof 5 hours<\/li>\n<li>Shape 1\/2 of the dough into a loaf and cook as bread<\/li>\n<li>Take the other half and distribute as follows:\n<ol>\n<li>25% in the jar as starter for your next use<\/li>\n<li>25, 25 and 25 % in three ropes &#8211; use to make a braid<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>Let relax, and shape into a loaf on a baking sheet<\/li>\n<li>Let both rise for one hour<\/li>\n<li>Bake (covered with foil) at 350 degrees for 20 minutes<\/li>\n<li>Remove foil and bake another 10 minutes<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Follow the instructions on reviving your starter.
