{"id":17456,"date":"2019-03-25T16:28:15","date_gmt":"2019-03-25T23:28:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.grandpacooks.com\/recipes\/?p=17456"},"modified":"2019-03-25T16:46:15","modified_gmt":"2019-03-25T23:46:15","slug":"maple-glazed-apples","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.grandpacooks.com\/recipes\/maple-glazed-apples\/","title":{"rendered":"Maple Glazed Apples"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Chef Maggie Norris of <a href=\"https:\/\/whiskedaway.net\/\">Whisked Away Cooking School<\/a> (here in Phoenix) prepared this recipe.\u00a0 This is my best attempt at recreating it from what I observed.<\/p>\n<p>Combine in a bowl &#8211; your Maple Glaze:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 block of cream cheese<\/li>\n<li>4 TBL butter<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 C brown sugar<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 C maple syrup<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li>Preheat your oven to 350\u00ba<\/li>\n<li>Cut out the stem of your apple<\/li>\n<li>Cut a cylinder down into the core of your apple, being careful to not go through the sides or bottom.<\/li>\n<li>Cut a circle surrounding the core &#8211; halfway between the peel and the core<\/li>\n<li>Cut slices into the peel of the apple, about 1\/4 inch in<\/li>\n<li>Cut slices from the core, going to the outside about 1\/4 inch out<\/li>\n<li>Your goal is to create nooks and crannies without allowing any of the glaze to leak out.<\/li>\n<li>Place the apple in a small square of foil and fill all the nooks and crannies with your Maple Glaze<\/li>\n<li>Bake for 45 minutes<\/li>\n<li>Carefully plate and top with more Maple Glaze.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4><strong>Here is an easy alternate<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Combine in a bowl &#8211; your Maple Glaze:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 block of cream cheese<\/li>\n<li>4 TBL butter<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 C brown sugar<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 C maple syrup<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li>Preheat your oven to 350\u00ba F.<\/li>\n<li>Cut your apple in quarters.<\/li>\n<li>Cut the seeds out.<\/li>\n<li>Cut three of the wedges into thin slivers.<\/li>\n<li>Grate the fourth wedge using a large hole grater.<\/li>\n<li>Place the apples in a pretty pattern in a greased ramekin.<\/li>\n<li>Sprinkle the grated apple over top of the slices.<\/li>\n<li>Drizzle the top of the apple heavily with your Maple Glaze<\/li>\n<li>Sprinkle to top of the Maple Glaze with Turbinado Sugar<\/li>\n<li>Bake for 45 minutes<\/li>\n<li>Serve hot, but warn your guests of the molten filling.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Chef Maggie Norris of Whisked Away Cooking School (here in Phoenix) prepared this recipe.\u00a0 This is my best attempt at recreating it from what I observed.
