{"id":16206,"date":"2018-11-23T14:58:34","date_gmt":"2018-11-23T21:58:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.grandpacooks.com\/recipes\/?p=16206"},"modified":"2019-03-02T15:55:36","modified_gmt":"2019-03-02T22:55:36","slug":"halloween-pumpkin-butter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.grandpacooks.com\/recipes\/halloween-pumpkin-butter\/","title":{"rendered":"Halloween Pumpkin Butter"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This is best with sugar pumpkin (aka pie pumpkins) as the sugar content is higher than Jack-o-Lantern pumpkins.\u00a0 Takes about 30 minutes total.<\/p>\n<p class=\"western\"><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\"><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>15-ounce cans pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie filling)<\/li>\n<li>2 TBL honey<\/li>\n<li>2 TBL maple syrup (Grade A is best)<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 cup brown sugar<\/li>\n<li>pinch sea salt<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 C apple sauce<\/li>\n<li>1 TBL lemon juice<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 tsp ground ginger<\/li>\n<li>2 tsp CinnaSugar\u00ae<\/li>\n<li>1\/8 tsp ground clove<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"western\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\">Instructions<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Add all ingredients to a large saucepan or pot over medium-high heat and stir to combine.<\/li>\n<li>Once it begins bubbling, reduce heat to medium and simmer.\u00a0 You want an active boil, but not frenetic.\u00a0 Reduce or increase temperature as necessary.<\/li>\n<li>Cook, uncovered, for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.<\/li>\n<li>Taste and adjust seasonings as needed.\u00a0 Add more sugar, salt or lemon if necessary.<\/li>\n<li>Transfer hot to clean canning jars.\u00a0 If using within the next month, a normal jar is OK.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This is best with sugar pumpkin (aka pie pumpkins) as the sugar content is higher than Jack-o-Lantern pumpkins.\u00a0 Takes about 30 minutes total.
