{"id":16138,"date":"2018-11-04T10:32:37","date_gmt":"2018-11-04T17:32:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.grandpacooks.com\/recipes\/?p=16138"},"modified":"2021-01-25T18:21:42","modified_gmt":"2021-01-26T01:21:42","slug":"gravy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.grandpacooks.com\/recipes\/gravy\/","title":{"rendered":"Individual Serving of Gravy"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_16143\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-16143\" style=\"width: 192px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.grandpacooks.com\/recipes\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/gravy-packet-1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium aiif16143\" src=\"https:\/\/www.grandpacooks.com\/recipes\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/gravy-packet-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"192\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-16143\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Gravy packets are usually stuffed into the body cavity of your frozen turkey.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Ever wonder what to do with that gravy packet that comes with your frozen turkey when nobody at your dinner really eats gravy &#8211; but you do.<\/p>\n<p>Here is an answer:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Mix the gravy packet with 2 C of pan drippings<\/li>\n<li>Add whatever gravy seasonings you like.\u00a0 I added 1 TBL Thunder Powder.<br \/>\n<\/li>\n<li>Ladle into cupcake silicon liners.\u00a0 Don&#8217;t use paper, it will essentially dissolve.\u00a0 You <em><strong>can<\/strong><\/em> use it, but be careful when thawing.<\/li>\n<li>Freeze overnight<\/li>\n<li>Put into a bag with a link to these instructions.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">www . grandpacooks . com \/ recipes \/ gravy<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When you are ready to make your gravy, do this:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Put one or two gravy cupcakes into a pan.<\/li>\n<li>Let melt for about an hour on the counter.\u00a0 No longer.<\/li>\n<li>If you are ready to cook <strong>now<\/strong>, microwave 15 seconds at a time breaking apart with a spoon until thawed.\u00a0 It doesn&#8217;t need to be <em>completely<\/em> thawed, just mostly.<\/li>\n<li>Start to heat the gravy on the stovetop.<\/li>\n<li>Mix 1 tsp cornstarch with 1 TBL water PER CUPCAKE.<br \/>\nThat is, if you are making two, use 2 tsp and 2 TBL.<\/li>\n<li>As soon as you see the first sign of steam, TEMPER the hot liquid into your cornstarch, 1 TBL at a time.<\/li>\n<li>After 4 TBL into your cornstarch, slowly drizzle the cornstarch into your gravy whisking continually.<\/li>\n<li>Stir until it thickens.\u00a0 That&#8217;s it !<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>ALTERNATE PREPARATION<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Starting with your melted gravy, heat in microwave 30 seconds.<\/li>\n<li>Remove and stir in 1 tsp cornstarch with 1 TBL water PER CUPCAKE.<br \/>\nThat is, if you are making two, use 2 tsp and 2 TBL.<\/li>\n<li>Heat another 30 seconds<\/li>\n<li>Remove and stir.<\/li>\n<li>Repeat &#8220;remove and stir&#8221; at 10 second intervals at this point.\u00a0 If you try to increase time to, let&#8217;s say 20 seconds, you will find that your gravy has developed clumps.<\/li>\n<li>When it has thickened enough for you, it is done.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ever wonder what to do with that gravy packet that comes with your frozen turkey when nobody at your dinner really eats gravy &#8211; but you do.
