{"id":15187,"date":"2017-12-23T17:30:44","date_gmt":"2017-12-24T00:30:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.grandpacooks.com\/recipes\/?p=15187"},"modified":"2019-03-02T15:56:26","modified_gmt":"2019-03-02T22:56:26","slug":"stollen","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.grandpacooks.com\/recipes\/stollen\/","title":{"rendered":"Stollen"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Title of Recipe: Stollen<\/p>\n<p>Ingredients:<br \/>\n2 cup milk<br \/>\n1 pkg dry yeast<br \/>\n1 \u00bd cup flour<br \/>\n3 eggs<br \/>\n1cup sugar<br \/>\n1 tsp salt<br \/>\n1 cup melted shortening<br \/>\n1 cup raisins<br \/>\n\u00bd cup citron<br \/>\n\u00bc cup orange rind<br \/>\n\u00bc cup lemon rind<br \/>\n\u00bd cup blanched almonds<br \/>\n2 tsp Grandpa&#8217;s CinnaSugar\u00ae<br \/>\n5 \u00be cup flour<br \/>\npowdered sugar<br \/>\ncandied fruit<\/p>\n<p>Instructions:<br \/>\nScald, cool to lukewarm 2 cups milk, soften 1 pkg dry yeast in \u00bc cup lukewarm water. Let stand 5 min, then add to milk. Stir in 1 \u00bd cup flour. Keep in warm place until bubbly. Blend in 3 beaten eggs, 1 cup sugar, 1 tsp salt, 1 cup melted shortening. Add 1 cup chopped raisins, \u00bd cup citron, \u00bc cup orange rind, \u00bc cup lemon rind, \u00bd cup blanched almonds.<\/p>\n<p>Dredge w\/1\/4 cup flour, add to sponge w\/juice and rind of 1 lemon, sift together 5 \u00be cup sifted flour, \u00bc tsp cinnamon, \u00bc tsp nutmeg. Stir into sponge to make stiff dough, turn out on floured board, knead until smooth, add more flour if necessary. Put in greased bowl, cover w\/damp cloth. Let rise in warm place until doubled in bulk, about 2 hours. Punch down, shape into 6 loaves w\/half of dough put in greased 3&#215;4\u201d pans. Braid wreath on greased cookie sheet. Let rise until doubled in bulk. Bake in 375\u00b0 oven, 30 minutes.
