{"id":14811,"date":"2017-11-14T09:31:00","date_gmt":"2017-11-14T16:31:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.grandpacooks.com\/recipes\/?p=14811"},"modified":"2023-05-28T17:01:00","modified_gmt":"2023-05-29T00:01:00","slug":"caramel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.grandpacooks.com\/recipes\/caramel\/","title":{"rendered":"Caramel"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li>3\/4 c Sugar<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 C Karo syrup (light corn syrup)<\/li>\n<li>2 TBL Water<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 tsp Cream of Tartar<\/li>\n<li>Pinch Salt<br \/>\n&#8211;<\/li>\n<li>3 TBL butter<\/li>\n<li>3 TBL Cream Cheese<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 C heavy cream<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp vanilla<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li>Measure parchment paper for the bottom of a square metal pan<\/li>\n<li>Trim so that it fits perfectly into the square pan<\/li>\n<li>Put a heavy sauce pan over medium high heat<\/li>\n<li>Add all ingredients and stir frequently<\/li>\n<li>As soon as it begins to simmer, cover and start timing 5 minutes<\/li>\n<li>Remove lid and insert candy thermometer<\/li>\n<li>Don&#8217;t touch for about 6-7 minutes<\/li>\n<li>Heat to 250\u00b0 .
