{"id":12425,"date":"2016-06-21T17:45:11","date_gmt":"2016-06-21T17:45:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.grandpacooks.com\/recipes\/?p=12425"},"modified":"2020-04-16T11:47:57","modified_gmt":"2020-04-16T18:47:57","slug":"guacamole-deviled-eggs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.grandpacooks.com\/recipes\/guacamole-deviled-eggs\/","title":{"rendered":"Guacamole Deviled Eggs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Recipe mostly by TipHero, with a twist or two from Grandpa.<\/p>\n<p><strong>INGREDIENTS<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Six eggs &#8211; About a week old<\/li>\n<li>1 VERY ripe avocado<\/li>\n<li>Juice and zest from one lime<\/li>\n<li>One deseeded jalape\u00f1o &#8211; minced<br \/>\nTipHero prefers to use a serrano pepper<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 tp salt<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 tsp black pepper<\/li>\n<li>2 TBL chopped Cilantro<\/li>\n<li>Dried chives ( not mixed in, rather sprinkled over top )<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>STEP BY STEP<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Rather than boiling your eggs to hard boil them, TipHero bakes them at 350\u00ba for 25 minutes.<br \/>\nIt is absolutely critical to start with a preheated oven.<\/li>\n<li>In a large bowl, take 4 C ice cubes and put into 8 C water<\/li>\n<li>Take your eggs directly from the oven and put into the ice water USING A SPOON.<br \/>\nTouching the eggs will raise a blister.<\/li>\n<li>Let set in water until the ice melts<\/li>\n<li>Peel the eggs, using the water to wash away pieces, and lubricate the egg as you peel.<br \/>\nYou can also peel under running water, but this wastes water.<\/li>\n<li>Cut egg in half using a piece of dental floss &#8211; yes&#8230; dental floss.<\/li>\n<li>Remove yolks and place in a mixing bowl.<br \/>\nPlace the whites on your serving plate.<\/li>\n<li>Halve your avocado, and scoop the meat out using a spoon.<br \/>\nTipHero uses the entire avocado.\u00a0 I prefer using only half.<\/li>\n<li>Add lime, jalape\u00f1o, salt, black pepper and cilantro.<\/li>\n<li>Put into a zip lock bag, and cut the tip off a corner<\/li>\n<li>Place your avocado mixture into the bag<\/li>\n<li>Pipe ( squeeze ) the mixture into your egg white<\/li>\n<li>Sprinkle your chives over top of the eggs, letting some spill onto the serving platter.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><iframe width=\"840\" height=\"630\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/l_OcIF9r66E?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; encrypted-media\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Recipe mostly by TipHero, with a twist or two from Grandpa.
