{"id":11849,"date":"2016-05-15T14:36:47","date_gmt":"2016-05-15T14:36:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.grandpacooks.com\/recipes\/?p=11849"},"modified":"2020-04-06T17:17:14","modified_gmt":"2020-04-07T00:17:14","slug":"chicken-lettuce-wrap","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.grandpacooks.com\/recipes\/chicken-lettuce-wrap\/","title":{"rendered":"Chicken Lettuce Wrap"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>INGREDIENTS<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>About \u00bd pound chicken<\/li>\n<li>Fresh head of butter lettuce or romaine (not iceburg)<\/li>\n<li>Spices to taste<br \/>\n&#8211; See list of alternate ingredients below.&nbsp; Don&#8217;t use more than 5 total, or you will not be able to distinguish the tastes.<\/li>\n<li>Cabbage finely shredded<\/li>\n<li>Peanuts &#8211; roasted and salted &#8211; crushed<\/li>\n<li>Sweet chili sauce<\/li>\n<li>Hoisin sauce<\/li>\n<li>Mayonnaise \/ Salad dressing<\/li>\n<li>Mung bean sprouts<\/li>\n<li>Julienne carrots<\/li>\n<li>Rice noodles<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>STEP BY STEP<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Cut chicken into pieces, then place in zip lock bag for 4-6 hours with 1 TBL each:&nbsp; Soy sauce, Sriracha, hoisin, garlic powder, grated ginger, rice wine vinegar<\/li>\n<li>Strain chicken and pat dry after 4-6 hours<\/li>\n<li>Stir fry onions till translucent<\/li>\n<li>Add chicken to finish cooking<\/li>\n<li>Mix all ingredients together<\/li>\n<li>Serve with large Romaine lettuce leaves (or butter lettuce for smaller wraps and a bit more flavor)<\/li>\n<li>Hoisin sauce or Teriyaki Dipping Sauce<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Also makes a decent burro when wrapped in a flour tortilla.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ALTERNATE INGREDIENTS<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cilantro<\/li>\n<li>Diced green onion<\/li>\n<li>Garlic<\/li>\n<li>Hoisin sauce<\/li>\n<li>Artichokes<\/li>\n<li>Sweet peppers<\/li>\n<li>Shredded carrots<\/li>\n<li>Cheddar cheese<\/li>\n<li>Monterey jack cheese<\/li>\n<li>Chopped black olives<\/li>\n<li>Chopped green olives<\/li>\n<li>Tomato<\/li>\n<li>Feta cheese<\/li>\n<li>Cottage cheese<\/li>\n<li>Garlic<\/li>\n<li>Capers<\/li>\n<li>Mustard<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>P.F. Chang&#8217;s adds shittake mushrooms, sherry, bamboo shoots, and water chestnuts; but then again, they serve this with iceberg lettuce!!
