{"id":11381,"date":"2016-05-06T15:57:26","date_gmt":"2016-05-06T15:57:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.grandpacooks.com\/recipes\/?p=11381"},"modified":"2023-10-06T19:02:41","modified_gmt":"2023-10-07T02:02:41","slug":"alfredo-sauce","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.grandpacooks.com\/recipes\/alfredo-sauce\/","title":{"rendered":"Healthy Alfredo Sauce"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This is a really easy recipe, fairly healthy, and you will get restaurant quality Alfredo sauce.<\/p>\n<p><strong>INGREDIENTS<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2 TBL shallot or onion &#8211; minced<\/li>\n<li>2 TBL butter<\/li>\n<li>2 cloves garlic &#8211; minced<\/li>\n<li>2 TBL AP flour<\/li>\n<li>2 egg yolks<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 C Parmesan cheese<\/li>\n<li>1 C milk<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 C light sour cream<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>STEP BY STEP<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Melt the butter in a sauce pan<\/li>\n<li>Add the minced onion\/shallot and garlic<\/li>\n<li>Immediately add the flour and stir until it is well combined and starts to cook<\/li>\n<li>Add 1\/2 of the milk &#8211; Stir to dissolve clumps<\/li>\n<li>Mix the egg yolks, Parmesan in with the milk<\/li>\n<li>Heat mixture over medium-low heat<br \/>\n&#8211; DO NOT BRING TO A BOIL &#8211; Maximum 200\u00ba<br \/>\n&#8211; As soon as you see a couple bubbles form, it is done<\/li>\n<li>Add the rest of the ingredients (except the sour cream)<\/li>\n<li>At the last minute, add the sour cream<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Top pasta with your choice of grated cheddar, diced chicken, parsley, bacon pieces, sauteed mushrooms, peas, etc<\/p>\n<div class=\"wprm-nutrition-label-container wprm-nutrition-label-container-simple wprm-block-text-normal\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This is a really easy recipe, fairly healthy, and you will get restaurant quality Alfredo sauce.
