{"id":10742,"date":"2016-04-12T16:44:05","date_gmt":"2016-04-12T16:44:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.grandpacooks.com\/recipes\/?p=10742"},"modified":"2019-07-23T13:57:49","modified_gmt":"2019-07-23T20:57:49","slug":"fortune-cookies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.grandpacooks.com\/recipes\/fortune-cookies\/","title":{"rendered":"Fortune Cookies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This is a perfect way to send your <em>Special Someone<\/em> a message of love.\u00a0 Adapted from a recipe by Sam the Cooking Guy.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.grandpacooks.com\/recipes\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/fortune.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-10743\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium aiif10743\" src=\"https:\/\/www.grandpacooks.com\/recipes\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/fortune.jpg\" alt=\"fortune\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a>INGREDIENTS<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2 egg whites<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 tsp almond extract<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 tsp vanilla extract<\/li>\n<li>3 TBL vegetable oil<\/li>\n<li>8 TBL sifted flour<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 tsp corn starch<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 tsp salt<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 tsp pepper<\/li>\n<li>8 TBL sugar<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>STEP BY STEP<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Type your fortunes up and cut them into strips<\/li>\n<li>Beat egg whites until soft peaks<\/li>\n<li>Mix other three ingredients in a small bowl into the egg whites<\/li>\n<li>Beat just until incorporated<\/li>\n<li>In a separate bowl, add 3 TBL water into the flour mixture<\/li>\n<li>Mix until it looks sandy<\/li>\n<li>Mix in with egg whites<\/li>\n<li>Take 1 level tablespoon of batter and put it on a greased baking sheet<\/li>\n<li>Form into a four inch circle using the back of the spoon<\/li>\n<li>Bake about 15 minutes (or until browned) at 300\u00ba<\/li>\n<li>Gently peel off and insert fortune strip<\/li>\n<li>Fold them in half, then put the back edge over the rim of a glass<\/li>\n<li>Carefully press down to create the fortune cookie shape<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>NOTE:\u00a0 You can only do about four at a time, because these will harden very quickly once removed from the oven.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This is a perfect way to send your Special Someone a message of love.\u00a0 Adapted from a recipe by Sam the Cooking Guy.
