{"id":1012,"date":"2012-02-20T19:13:13","date_gmt":"2012-02-20T19:13:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.grandpacooks.com\/recipes\/?p=1012"},"modified":"2017-12-02T23:20:27","modified_gmt":"2017-12-03T06:20:27","slug":"baked-buffalo-chicken-wings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.grandpacooks.com\/recipes\/baked-buffalo-chicken-wings\/","title":{"rendered":"Baked Buffalo Chicken Wings"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>INGREDIENTS<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 TBL garlic powder<\/li>\n<li>1 3\/4 teaspoons salt<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 teaspoon fresh-ground black pepper<\/li>\n<li>1 1\/2 teaspoons cayenne<\/li>\n<li>4 pounds chicken wings<\/li>\n<li>3 tablespoons cooking oil<\/li>\n<li>2\/3 cup mayonnaise<\/li>\n<li>1\/3 cup sour cream<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 pound blue cheese, crumbled (about 1 cup)<\/li>\n<li>2 scallions including green tops, chopped<\/li>\n<li>5 teaspoons vinegar<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 cup ketchup<\/li>\n<li>1 tablespoon Tabasco sauce<\/li>\n<li>8 ribs celery, cut into sticks<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>STEP BY STEP<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Heat the oven to 425 degrees F.<\/li>\n<li>Mix together in a paper bag the garlic powder, pepper, salt and cayenne pepper powder<\/li>\n<li>In a large bowl, toss the thawed wings with the cooking oil<\/li>\n<li>Put into the paper bag and shake until coated &#8211; save any excess powder in the bag<\/li>\n<li>Arrange the wings in a single layer on two large baking sheets.<\/li>\n<li>Bake until just done, about 35-45 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Meanwhile create your dipping sauce: In a medium glass or stainless-steel bowl, combine the mayonnaise, sour cream, blue cheese, scallions, and ONLY ONE teaspoon of the vinegar<\/li>\n<li>To coat your cooked wings, in a large bowl, combine the ketchup, the remaining 4 teaspoons vinegar, the Tabasco sauce, and the remaining powder from the bag &#8211; ALTERNATE:\u00a0 Simply use Frank&#8217;s Red Hot Cayenne Pepper Sauce<\/li>\n<li>Add the wings and toss to coat.<\/li>\n<li>Serve the wings with the celery sticks and blue-cheese dressing alongside.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>MENU SUGGESTION<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pair these wings with more finger food.
